what are good dropshot baits roboworm, yamamoto etc.

Dont know much about yamamoto,but most roboworms make good droshot baits especially the FX Sculpin model.Also check out the baits they make in japansuch as the Depps,Lake police,and Bait Breath baits,heres a pic of one below.

Yamamoto makes a flat worm for drop shot. I like for certain times of the year, but most of the time I use Roboworm or even small tube baits

Don't limit yourself to small baits. I dropshot worms as big as 9". Any bait will work, it's just finding something that you have confidence in :-) Make sure it's soft, preferably a hand pour. The baits won't last through as many fish, but you'll get more action out of them.

Buy some of Jake's (woodsac) baits. I really like the finesse minnow. Good bait. I like the Robo's alot too. The Baby Ika by Yamamoto is a really good one.

On the yamamoto site right now they have specials on alot of their 4" and 6" curl tails. Only $1.50. I bought a ton of them and cut the tails just like thier kut tails worms and they make a great dropshot bait. They are the same thing except that the kut tail worms cost around 4 or 5 bucks a pack and the modified worms are just a bit skinnier.

To me the best d-shot baits are hand poures and I drop shot alot just go for a stright worm that is nice and soft and like woodsac said try some bigger baits too I have cought a ton of fish on 7" worms that were no bigger than 7" themselfs.

My advice is to keep it simple. With all the options of baits and colors, you can drive yourself completely nuts trying to figure out which bait and color is the best for a given day. I found myself falling into that trap, and it was hurting my success.

I made a decision to keep it simple. I now only use a bait that is proven successful under almost all conditions, and thats the 4.5" roboworm. I also only use 5 colors, all of which are proven as well. Since Ive committed to simplicity, my confidence has soared, Im happy with my success, and I spend more time fishing then playing with a bunch of baits.

Note: at times I will use a color or bait that is hot on a particular lake (i.e., the brown with purple flake at shasta). However, I rarely deviate from my system. This doesnt apply to heavy shotting.

Honestly, the 3-1/2" to 4" Culprit Drop Shot worm kicks a$$ while dropshotting with natural movement with the slightest up/down motion of the rod...very nice...try with scents http://www.culprit.com/html/dropshotworm.html

this works kicka$$. i use it at san v and cought a whole bunch of 3-4 pounders on it. it lookes like a small shiner or a dieing shad.

Reapers stright worms they all work just remeber in spring the tiny baits tend to catch samller fish. And just about any color works on little fish.
