Hi all,
I'm planning to get a Shikari SW808M (rated 12-25lb. with Med-Fast Action) wrapped for the new season to fish 15-20lb test for calicos and local stuff. Planning to fish livebait and plastics with the Calcutta 400s.

Any Pros or Cons on the rod will be appreciated. Can someone also give me an estimate price on a this rod, triple wrapped with Fuji Alconite guides and cork with trigger reel seat? The blank itself is going for $101.50 in the Shikari website.

Thanks in advance!

Don't know about the blank, but I've been impressed with the shikari's that I've seen. You should definitely not get it triple wrapped, go double wrap for sure. Triple will only cost you more money in labor, add weight and be completely un-necessary. The only rod I've ever triple wrapped was my 80lb. trolling rod, and I'm not entirely sure it even needed it... Expect to pay at least $200 all said and done with cork. If you need a wrapper or have any questions shoot me an email- brian@calfishing.com
