2599, Rod For Swimbaits

I'm going to try to commit myself to throwing big baits more often this season and wanted some advice from the experts. I have an 800XL paired with a Calcutta 400 that I use for saltwater. I just wanted to know if this is sufficient enough to throw huddleston's and slammer's in the 9" & 12"... I'm trying to see if I can get away with using this rig to avoid dipping into my pockets for a new rig. Thanks guys!

If you want a rod that is inexpensive buy one of these

I love these Okuma rods. They were actualy designed to throw big baits and can handle the big heavy lures with ease.

Matt,

Thanks for the tip. If I can't make a go with my current set up, i'll order that Okuma rod from Tacklewarehouse. That's a good price, you can't go wrong for only $90! :)
