Well let me start by introducing myself as I am new to this board. I have viewed post's here before, but never posted because most of the information on here is not the areas I fish. However, when I saw this portion of the forum I couldn't resist as I am a little stuck on my project or should I say I haven't begun. I bought the boat a little over a year ago and blew the engine in the first 6 months (wonder why he sold it?) so I had the engine rebuilt and it ran great for a little while and now it's back in the shop for a little work again. Well I need to put a new fish finder and don't really know what the good ones are so any input would be great. Next question would be the the carpet????? It's coming up and the wood is showing in some places any place i can read on how to do this? Where do I get the carpet? CAn I hire someone?

Thanks in advance all,

Jason

Here is a great article about recarpeting:

http://www.bassresource.com/features/bass_boat_carpet.html

I basically followed this article to put in my carpet and it has worked well so far.

For the fish finder, I am a little out of the know since I haven't shopped for one in a few years, but I'll put in a word for my Lowrance X91. It's been good to me so far. The Pinpoint graphs are also nice. Maybe someone else more knowledgeable can chime in on the graph info.

Thanks for the link Rob. This is timely since I just bought my carpet and plan on carpeting all my decks this weekend!

Dude, I have a 17 foot tracker also. Hit me up, you would not believe the amount of work we have done on my boat. Having a dad as an engineer helps. Maybe looking at mine will give you some ideas to work off of.

Do you have any pictures of your tracker? Where do you live?

Thank you,
Jason
