Looks really nice but I wouldn't take that boat out of the harbor with that much weight in the bow, awesome for F/W tho....Got any pics of it in the water????
How many hours did it take you total?....Mine took forever because it was getting so expensive, and I was trying to keep it light........Thanks for the pics....Warren

dont have the hours figure but if i guess id say about 5-10 hours total work

id never try and take it out of any harbor anyway its way too small

i will have a boat soon enough that i can probably take out to cat. for the night

but its hella comfy at a lake fishin bass or panfish with my kids

got any pictures of your mods

and i will get a couple of on the water shots

believe it or not she still planes with all the weight in the bow

Hey thanks for taking the time to do the pics :) Maybe next week I can cook up a photo gallery for boat rigging. It seems like there's a lot of interest in this topic and it would be cool to see some pics of everyone's boats and how they rig them, etc.

Looks great! I'm doing the same thing witha 14' aluminum v-hull but I'm not ready to release pictures yet!! :) I'm taking pictures as I go.
How stable is it when you're standing on the casting deck? What size motor do you have? I'm looking around for a used 15HP for mine.
I've figured that my planned mods only add 150 lbs total to the boat, that's for a front casting deck and a floor in rest of the boat.

All you need now is a toilet and a place to cook the fish and you'd never have to leave, nice setup man. I'm actually looking to dome something like that myself, I want to find a totally naked 12 ft aluminum boat and start from there. Get it set up to my exact wants. Set-up boats are nice, but there's nothing like one set up by and for you. I think your fishing experience is much better when you've got your boat set up EXACTLY the way you want. Again, nice set up, I'm jealous.

Catch it twice or eat it once?... you make the call.

wellfair: no its not a vcr combo im not that out of control its a clarion marine cd player that the boss at work donated and the bimini was from overtons http://www.overtons.com/ i think it was $135 brand new with all hardware

ken a: the casting deck is stable for me and even me and my son but my cousin who weighs a little more then me seems to throw the boat off balance if i got to do it all over again id try and find a deeper hulled model ,on my boat i have a 15 hp evinrude and couldnt ask for more power really even with all the weight ive added it still planes really good ill check how fast im going next time im out since my 600l has speed on it and ive added way more than 150lbs im sure (i didnt wiegh as i went just even out the weight in the boat)

i really like this boat now i can fish it really comfortably now

i have even taken into huntington harbor with the new setup and it worked great

cant wait to get some use out of the live/bait well though

Damien....Thanks for the info...I'm workin on resizing the pics of my boat but here is one to show you what it looks like...When I got this thing it was all jacked up...I have wasted soooooo much $$$ and time on this thing not to mention all of the heliarc welding to keep the deck as light as possible.....The guy that owned it before me actually ripped out the front seat completely so I had to fab brackets and landings from aluminum to support the deck......Warren

Looks really good. One comment though. I don't know exactly what type of gas storage or venting lines you have set up there but it looks like that type of gas container was designed for open air use. You need to make sure gas vapors can't accumalate in that compartment, especially since the batteries are stored there. Not trying to diss your project as the work is awesome but I spent alot of time doing offshore fishing and boating etc and I KNOW that safety has to be a primary design consideration.

I was going to post the same thing. In the small boat bass club I used to fish in we everyone had coustom rigs like this. A bunch of guys got ticketed for having thier gas tanks and bateries in an inclosed locataion w/o proper ventalation. Just a heads up.

i lwft about a 1 inch gap around the edges of the platform in the front to allow water to evaporate out and to get gas vapors out since the anchor rope also goes up there it needs to be able to dry out so i think im ok until i get a ticket lol

I fyou are ever up north stay off of Lake McClure as that is where the tickets were handed out. The sheriff on that lake LOVES writing tickets.
