I need a spinning reel for a light weight 6'6" rod. If possible I would like to keep the price under $80 as it is an outfit that will be used by friends when the winds kicks up too much for them to flyfish. I was thinking about either the Diawa Exceler 1500, Shimano Symetre 1500, and Okuma Inspira. Since it will be used a lot on Pyramid the reel needs to hold up to salt and sand. Thanks.

You also might want to look at the Shimano Sahara 2500. Pretty good reel for the money.

I say if the reel is going to be in a salty and sandy environment buy a cheap one. You can replace it after a few months and buy another one. I think you can get reels for $15-30 these days...
