3643, magnetic brake system

i just bought a magnetic brake system for my chronarch 100 mg. in order to install it i need to remove the svs brake system and the raceway from the spool and sideplate.

can anyone tell me if removing these two parts requires them to be broken loose or can they simply be put right back in case the magnetic brake system does not work out?

-thanks

Why do you want to get rid of the VBS system? The magentic systems are not as good because of the way they work. The VBS is a centrifugal design which allows for braking when you need it and then it tapers off. Magnets are always on so you have braking through the entire cast.

because i am interested in trying new things...i saw the magnetic brake part online and thought it would be cool to try. i like customizing things that i own because it gives me a mental edge knowing that i am doing something a bit different than other people. keep in mind that i never said the magnetic brakes would be better than the svs brakes; i am just interested in comparing the two to see what difference it makes.

"Magnets are always on so you have braking through the entire cast."

furthermore, according to what you said i think that magnets would be more precise since their attraction to the spool is constant. constants give you control; this is why i am interested in the magnetic brake system because i want to find out if it will give me a further cast, even if just by a small amount.

also, magnets will not wear out. they will not weaken or get dirty like the svs brakes will. you constantly have to clean and lubricate svs brakes but i suspect magnets will require less maintenance.

lastly, please do not misunderstand me; i am not offended or upset. but when an opinion is voiced to a college student, he or she is likely to return more rhetoric than one cares to hear. sorry about that, its just where im at in life right now.

any way, if anyone has an answer to my question i would really appreciate their response. thanks!
