WHOA! This thing is pretty tough to find a pic of. Even the U.S. Distributors "Lobina Lures" who have them available aren't posting pics yet! I saw some first hand at Last chance in Hemet, definitely the next acquistion in my collection of swimbaits!

"The first wacky rigged swimbait! Tie on the mid-body, right tie ring to swim to the right, or on it's left ring to swim to the left. The body rolls side to side as the soft tail slides the entire lure under overhangs, docks and other unreachable waters. Exciting, innovative and just totally awesome! $55."

Its not the first one to do that just the first one in the US. Deps came out with one about a year ago that fishes a little better I think. But definately and interseting concept

Any idea on what it's called? I've done really well on Deps stuff (buzzjet, Basirisky) I'd definitely be interested in trying to pick one up. Thanks in advance!

You can also try fishing a regular Monster Jack wacky style. I got this idea from a friend of a friend of a friend of my sister in Tokyo, so not my original idea. You take the front hook off, and put it where you would normally tie your line. Then, you tie your line where there first hook used to be. Then you kind of slap it on the surface on a somewhat windy day. I have actually caught fish doing this, but nothing too big. I used a Monster Jack that had been modified, with the lip shaved off and little bit of tape weight up front. Fishing it wacky style, I dont think that would matter though. I kind of fished it fast, but now I am thinking slow twitching on top with deadsticking pauses might work too. Try it next time you are bored. How about wacky rigging a floating Castaic Platinum, on a heavy drop shot rig?!?!

Magmaster just to set things straight. Matsamoto came out to California and fished and video taped with Jerry Rago, Mike Long and myself in Feb. of 2005 and I got to fish the slide jack and the spooky jack prototypes then. It first came out with the fish tail like the monster jack and then he asked Jerry about putting the fork tail that Jerry puts on his Generic Trout and it worked better. He had the idea before the Deps silent compass came out. I get 4 Japanese fishing magazines, Lure, Bass World, Basser and Rod & Reel and the slide jack was shown before the silent compass.

How/where would I order a Killer Compass? I did a search but did not find any retailers.

Conway my mistake you are correct I got my dates mixed up again. They all start to blend together when you work as much as I do.

Dan, My sources tell me the Killer Compass hasn't quite made it to the market yet officially. Trust me I tried. Thats one thing I hate about Japanese baits you gotta hunt for them :(.
