172, Got Wood?

No molds, no taxidermy bought replicas, no private lakes, just hand carved WOOD. This is the 16 inch Generic Trout Deadstick with presentation stand. Like all my baits you need to pre-order your "big balls hat" to fish them the way I do. Not 500 or even 300. I only charge for my time. If you pre-order your "thinking cap" buy 30 or 40 swimbaits instead (they don't have to be mine) but if you have others and you don't have mine maybe you were dropped on your head when you were a kid. Take any bait that you like whether it looks good, feels good, swims good, if it gives you confidence, fish it to death and you will get bit. Trick baits will eventually get you a big fish (10 trick baits, 10 big fish, thats a lot). Cheaper work horse baits will get you more. Example, Generic Rat 2 over 10. 16 inch Generic Trout Original Hardbait 2 over 10. Generic "Live Trout" Softbait 1 over 10. Secret Trickbait 1 over 10. Generic Trout 3-D Swimbait 17 over 10. That 23 over 10 for the 2003 year, as you can see the work horse did the damage. If you have to buy the cheapest baits you can and throw them out like you never expect to see them again and you will catch fish. As far as 50 fish per swimbait, good luck! I average 1 10 pound fish for every 50 swimbaits, if I'm lucky. I hope this will help some people to gain confidence and maybe put some of their ideas to work. Remember, if you have something special keep some for yourself. Got reply?
Jerry Rago.

Awesome work Jerry!

That's also probably about the best big bass advice i've ever heard. Like you said, your baits gotta be willing to die for you:)

You gotta be able to afford having your baits die for you LOL... but that's an awesome looking bait/piece or art Jerry...
Maybe i should try and make some of my own lures so i can afford to lose a few and not be out a $20...

Only problem is, it's so freaking cool looking, that I don't know how I could live with myself if I scratched it ! :-)
I can see myself yanking it away from a big bass to prevent teeth marks ! Not really :-)

Awesome work Jerry !
You da' man !

What I take from it is this....you have to fish these baits with no fear of losing them,if your afraid to lose them and be too cautious your bait will never be where the big girls are. Also I guess he's caught most of his fish on the rubber baits, the ones I'd say he's least worried about losing.Unfortunately most of us are not in the position to lose these baits on a regular basis, definetly not fifty, but that's the way things are and more power to him that he has dedicated himself to be there,he deserves it.
Honestly,I bought one original Generic Hardbait over a year ago and have only fished it once.Payed a hundred dollars and I could,nt imagine losing it,I'm just now getting the cahonees to fish it.That's what it was made for,not sitting in my closet.

Anyway,in a nutshell that's the main point I gathered,I could be way off base,it would'nt be the first time. As far as the deadstick bait goes,it looks perfect...well the fins might be a bit big..but truly a work of art.

I'm still scratching my head wondering what he's talking about.

Yeah It took a few reading to somewhat understand it.. but its basically throw a bait enough sooner or later you'll get a big one... but to increase your chances you gotta fish the big baits and not be afraid to lose them... then again maybe I misinterpreted it too.
