just finished these today. the shad is a 10" wake bait. the trout is also a wake/shallow diver, depending on the retrieve. the rest are slow sinking swimmers. all are hand carved and painted.

I just got off Casitas with this guys lures, some big 7"-10" trout and bass. On my first cast had 2 big followers and later in the day I lost about a 7 lb'er that hit about 10 ft from the boat, the fish turned to the stick ups and I put my thumb on the spool and it popped off. All the lures I got had no diving lip and great action. I am waiting on my second shipment and am very impressed with these lures, They will turn 90 to 135 degrees on a twitch and pause to convert followers. The action is similar to the Castaic soft platinums but less pronounced. I only fished for 3 hours and the swimbait bite has not really turned on yet.

Very impressive workmanship John! I've been looking for the perfect material to make tails for my own baits. Would you mind sharing exactly what it is that you are using? I understand completely if you'd rather not. Thanks in advance. If you'd like to keep it between you and me please feel free to email me at muskysnax@yahoo.com.

Again, those baits look fantastic!

I have a perch pattern swimbait from John. I can attest to the quality/action of the bait (not-so-pronounced castaic platinum is a perfect description offduty!). I did recommend he uses better hooks though.

OffDuty, Do those sink? If so how fast would you say? They look incredible. I was thinking of getting one for my girlfriend! She just started swimbaiting!

They are custom hand made lures, just tell John what you are looking for and he will make it. The big 1 is a floater and the others are slow sink. I believe in this guys lures so much I placed a $900.00 order for 3-12" 4-10" 4-8" and 4 6" swimbaits in trout with 1 of each in floater and some 4" and 5" shad lures in float and sink. John is a great guy and is constantly refining his craft. He is sending me a prototype that lays on its side with tail action for me to try. He seems up for just about anything and has excellent customer service. He will work with you to get the most realistic paint job for your lures.
Good luck

Just got those lures and the paint looks awesome, lots of flake and 2 coats of epoxy they have the flash that I was hoping to get to replicate a real trouts scales. I will throw them all day tomorrow especially the 12" floater. I had the fins flared out more on these for secondary action.
Peace, Rich
