Thanks for the kind words Alex. I agree with you, the bottom hook is extremly improtant for landing fish. The shad was actualy the first freshwater swimbait I ever made. I have just never released it. I have caught a ton of fish on various sizes and prototypes and I have lost a bunch to. The bottom hook make a huge diference. Dont get me wrong you can land them with just a top hook but I tend to use these baits on regular bass gear and you cant winch them in like you would with swimbait gear. This gives them time to jump and with just the top hook they have a decent chance of throwing the bait. With the treble your odds go WAY up.
