Anyone seen the frogs or swimbaits from a company called River 2 Sea? I'm hearing little murmuring but haven't seen any pics.

I checked out their website but didn't notice anything new? They do have a frog and a couple different style swimbaits, hard and soft.

hm, not what I was expecting... Never seen that company's stuff before & didn't know they had a site with all those products and whatnot. It looks like Storm or Megbait style stuff.

I heard the new swimbait was a wooden bait with soft plastic tail. The wood section of their website doesn't show anything yet, though.

Interesting that they do have these...

Clearly a Charlie with River2Sea label on package. Anyway, the chart says it comes in sizes up to 10 inches in the floating lipped version, which is what I've been wanting from the Charlie all along.
Maybe River2Sea can actually get these in stores.

They are an Australian company so they get to knock off the Charlie and other baits through thier Asian suppliers. The frog has usual crawler action nothing to Poopoo about.

Waiting for the release of some of thier other hard baits, these are the ones I can't wait to use this summer.

Hi Guys,

I actually just bought one of those Wood N Waddle Frogs from a place called Hi's Tackle http://www.histacklebox.citysearch.com/. I have not fished it yet but it does look incredible in the pool, aside from the normal wobble that we have all already seen in othe baits like the jitterbug, tha namazu crawler, etc. the legs on this thing are what really set it apart, they have a great lifelike action when it is being retrieved. You can jerk it like a popper type of lure or you can slowly crank it, in my opinion a slow steddy crank will probably work better, it is made of Jelutong Wood and it comes with some super shark Daiichi hooks and an extra set of legs, the intro. price on these things is $49.99 then they will go to about $70.00 dlls. which in my opion is way out of line, the $50.00 i can live with because after all it is very well made, wood, 30 layer paint job and all but $70.00 is definetely too much. The weight on it is a little bit over 1 ounce.

What do you think Rob, should i pack it for my trip to El Salto in a few weeks?

I'll try to shoot some MPEG Video of it this coming Sunday, if it comes out good i'll send it so that you guys can check out the action.

Taylor, I can't see which product you are referring to in your post. Their site is in frames so the links don't work right.

The only place online I see to buy even some of thier stuff is Hi's Tackle Box like Juancho said www.histacklebox.com.

JC - I don't know about the frog at El Salto. I mean, I could definitely see frogs getting bit there, but I don't know if it'll be any better than other topwaters. I'm not a big frog fisherman so I'm lousy on the advice in that department :)

Extreme Angler in Antioch carries them but has almost nothing stocked, you have to special order. A tackle shop in Napa carries a lot of their stuff.

River2Sea makes the Charlie for Megabait/Pace. They're actually one of the biggest lure manufacturers in the world--they make lures for quite a few BIG name Japanese and American companies. They're now trying to build a presence in the US market with their own brand...

They had some at Hi's at the fred hall show today.. 49.99 supposedly normally 59.99. They had the minnow which is pictured and one that was more sunfish shaped(will probably buy the sunfish one at the ISE show)... the sunfish shaped one had a slammer kind of tail as opposed to the "upside down" boot tail on the one pictured. It's a hair short of 7 inches and a little over an ounce in weight.

I had a friend that was working for them and he sent me a bunch of stuff it's OK but it is cheap made in China stuff. And they are the ones who make the XPS baits for Bass Pro Shops...ooops was that a secret?}(

i was throwing the baby bass last night. it has a good wake, but not much sound. it should be good right before spawn as a crank style bait. you can swim it pretty slow and it will dive to around 2 or 3 feet down. it also has a real nice direction change and whoble. the tail is a newer design and pops real well along the top.
