The New and improved Mattlures Bluegill Series
Back by Popular Demand!!

The Mattlures Bluegill is the most realistic soft plastic bluegill swimbait available on the market today. Each lure is individually hand poured and painted to ensure quality, and accurately display the natural details found in live bluegill. This versatile lure can be fished at various speeds without compromising the action of the lure. Fished as a swimbait, these lures have a life-like, fleeing action that will trigger the natural predatory instincts of big trophy bass. These baits will also wake the surface at a moderate speed. But that’s not where it ends! Drop the bait down on the bottom and the bluegill will maintain a feeding position with little or no effort from the angler.
Twitch the rod tip, and the lure “bounces” on the bottom; nose down, just like a bluegill eating bass eggs. As you can imagine this makes them MAD! The strikes are typically ferocious. Because of the way they “sit ” these bait can also be flipped and pitched like a jig. One of my favorite techniques is to slowly swim them past ambush points. The possibilities are endless

ALL 4 COLORS SITTING NATURALY IN A TANK WITH OUT ANY LINE TIED TO THEM!

These have a bigger wider tail than the originals witch allows them to swim much better at slow speeds. They are also a little softer for better action but they are just as durable as before.

Those are awesome baits. Every march i go out and catch some live perch and free spool them for monster bass (i live in texas where this is legal). Those would probably work just as well because they are so realistic. Without a doubt the best bluegill ive ever seen, but it doesnt look like i'll be getting one anytime soon cause im broke. Ill get one when i actually have some money.

Matt,

Those paint jobs are stellar man. Making the tails a little bigger is a nice mod too. I think there will be some nice fish caught on those guys this spring.

Not Matt but I put a weed-guard type treble on mine. The hook has a thin, stainless(?) steel wire that protects the points.

Dan thanks for the info. I'll look into those kind of trebles...

Thank for the compliments guys,
I use a size 1 or 2 treble and I insert one of the hooks in the belly so it isnt hanging. The only time I dont have a treble on it is when I am fishing it over weeds. I like the idea of a weedless treble though. I will have to try it.

matt nice work on the lures I dont know how you do it all mine have a flat side, injection molds are too much for me. I am wondering how fast the lure sinks is it a slow or fast sinker, also for the treble you could try only using a double around weeds I do that w/ traps sometimes, mabey it could work here too? Anyhow I will probably pic one of these bad boys up before the spawn!
