Sacto John - I don't know about the OEM stuff. The Cableas line and the BPS saltwater camo line both look an awful lot like triple fish. It's probably the same stuff but I don't know for certain.

J hinds - The original camo is basically reddish/pale green/clear. The camo-escent is brown/pale green/flourescent/clear. I think that the original camo looks better in dingy water, whiskey color water, stuff like that. The camo-escent seems to look better in clear water. I fish both interchangeably, I don't really care too much about which one I use because I always tie to the clear or pale green section of the line.

These lines do have memory like any mono type line does. I fish my lines between 1 and 5 trips typically. All depends on how much I use it and how many times I get snagged, etc. I fish this line because it's reliable. I know it's properties, and I know it won't break for no reason. The camo lines have strength and they have real abrasion resistance. There are other lines that cast better and have less memory and last longer, but for the price of this line, you can respool all the time. A 1/4lb spool of 6lb test is 7 bucks and you could spool your spinning reels dozens of times off that. For me that's a good option because inevitably you get some burr or fray like 50 feet down the line and you have to respool. That hurts on expensive lines.

I am on the Triple Fish Pro staff if you did not know, and that is my wholly biased opinion ;) I fished the line for many many years before I got on the pro staff though, it's good stuff.
