4562, Tragic News: Tim Tucker Killed
Posted by Matt Peters, Tue Jul-17-07 02:08 PM
I just read an awful story that Tim Tucker was killed in a car wreck in Florida.

I've met and talked to Tim. I truly felt he was one of the very very few professional outdoor writers, that wrote anything worth reading from the major media publications...I still feel that way. Tim also ran a side project, I think it was called the PAI (Professional Angling Insider) which was a paid subscription to a newsletter that gave you some true skinny and real information from pros and industry folks, without the politics and sponsor bias/fluff/worries that BassMaster and such have to abide to for $ reasons.

Really really sorry for Tim's family and friends, and most of all the sport. Pay attention to who writes an article that isn't "Fall patterns for river smallies" or "beat post spawn blues" or "inside spinnerbait tips from the pros" Tim appeared to be a little more plugged into real fishing, real fisherman, and the I think recognized that most of us have progressed from beginner to advanced and need something to sink our teeth into.

Anyway, just bummed to hear my favorite outdoor writer was killed.
