Wow! I feel like a real star. I had no idea this post was even here. I don't check the general board as much as the Freshwater or Trophy boards.

I'll tell you what, I practiced for that tournament about 15-20 days if you count all the swimbait only days I had down there. That's a hell of a lot of practice to only weigh in 3 fish! The funny thing is that 2 of my fish were caught on water I found the day before!

I had a young kid in my boat, and that was to my advantage. He just would go with the flow. We threw swimbaits in the am, nothing. I hit my first deep spot, caught a keeper right away. Followed up with a dink. Next spot, another dink, then another dink. Shoots! Dinks out of 50 feet of water? Ouch!

Pulled out to a small corner and caught another dink! Graphed some outside brush nearby, dropped down and had a keeper on the first drop. By now the wind and clouds moved in. I got one slash at my swimbait. I would have won with that fish.

I caught one more keeper on a t-rig worm on a spot I got bit on the day before. It had to have been the same fish. I didn't swing on him the first day, and sure enough, I got bit again!

Weighed in 3 fish. I was kinda bummed. I had no idea how bad everyone else did too. That lake was getting pounded like no other at the time. The fish were just hammered.

Otay is next! I'm going for the money next time!
