1431, Any Good fishing places?
Posted by , Mon Jul-01-02 06:48 AM
I am new to fishing. Anyone could provide some information about where the good fishing places in the East and South Bay area during the 4th of July day or during the summer? The weather is getting warmer. I am trying to catch any of following fish: Trout, Bass(Large, small mouth or stripe), Sunfish, or Catfish.
Thanks,

I assume that you mean the East Bay and South Bay of the San Francisco Bay area. Let us know if this is the area in which you are interested.

In the SF South bay try the following;
for Trout- #1 Coyote L., #2 Chesboro L, or if you don't mind paying $ to "shoot fish in a barrel" try Parkway Lake off Monterey Rd.
For Largemouth Bass try Coyote L., Calero L., Anderson L., Chesboro L., or try the ponds between Monterey and the freeway N. of Morgan Hill near where the Tomcat's Model Airplane Club is. Please practice C&R
Smallmouth bass are a rare find in this area, and I don't know of any good places for them. Please practice C&R
Catfish- Anderson L., Coyote L., Chesboro, ...

Tight lines,
Wade

Wade gave you good advice, but Chesboro was low and unproductive last week for my son.

In the East Bay try San Pablo Reservoir, Shadow Cliffs, or the Quarry Ponds for trout.

For striped bass check the party boats that fish SF Bay.

Good luck.

...the bottyom of my list but it does have Bass, Trout, Catfish, Crappie, and Bluegill. They're just small and few compared to other lakes around here.
