4664, RE: Making your own Swimbait Box... Posted by Carrot Top, Wed Nov-28-07 05:50 PM
It has been awhile since I made the boxes. For the most part when I go fishing from shore I'll take one of these boxes for the wider bodied swimbaits (ie bbz-1, baby tool, shell cracker, rock hard platinum) and the soft baits, Mattlures bluegills, huddlestons etc. The other 2 or 3 I made sit in storage with the soft baits that I am not bringing or haven't used in awhile.
My slammers, lunker punkers, rovers and other slimmer swimbaits are just put into a lure box similar to a plano 3700 ( I think that's the size)
I actually found a nice tackle bag for when I am in a boat. It is made my Okeechobee Fats and can be picked up at Walmart for about $40 which includes 8 tackle boxes similar to the plano. It has quite a few outside pockets and the tackle boxes inside can be set up in a few different configs depending on how many of the vertical boxes you are using.
