Just like any other technique, there are many variables in drop shotting. I like the Roboworm straight tail in either the 4.5 or 6 inch. These worms are very slender and soft so they get the perfect action on a drop shot set up.

The 4.5 is usually my choice early in the year, but now, and through the warmer months, the 6 inch is perfect.

The Owner RigN Hook is what I use with them, the size #2 for the 4.5 and size #1 for the 6 inch. These are small hooks, but they have a big bite and don't deaden the action of the worm. Nose hooks, such as the Owner Mosquito, I'll only use when the bite is extremely tough or if I'm fishing in deep water where bites are hard to detect.

Tungsten sinkers have also become a necessity for me. They cast better, sink faster, and maintain better feel than lead sinkers. They are a little more expensive, but I lose fewer of them so it balances out.

Colors in the plastics can vary, but Oxblood Red Flake, Blackgrape Neon, Aaron's Magic, and Perris Punisher are always in my boat.
