My favorite one is a 9" dark trout. Color doesn't seem to matter very much in comparison with size and motion. The most important thing is to get one that swims good. Since each one is different, some swim different than others. As for the snap, I had a slight problem with the stock snap one time. I caught a fish from shore and bounced it on the grass. As I'm unhooking it I noticed the snap had unsnapped itself. I don't know if this occured during the fight, or when the plug hit the grass or whatever, but I just didn't want it to happen again so I bought some different ones from big 5. I'll post a pic in a couple minutes.

ps- I've never heard of anyone else having a problem with the stock snaps so it's probably nothing to worry about, but I just wanted the peace of mind.
