Ed, have you fished the ponds lately? I fished them after work today for nada, until "the last cast". Tossed a Texas rigged worm right next to the rock by the tulies, from the street- I had just scoped the rock from the opposite shore, there was a 6" grom sitting there. Got picked up, thought it was the little bugger- set the hook on a nice 3 pounder, jet black, cool looking fish. Well, gotta make one more cast- fish grabs the 5" robo and starts jamming towards the middle of the lake, this must be the little guy. Set the hook, fish actually pulls some drag as it bolts toward deeper water, jumps, nice 4+ with a big fat gut. She turns around and jams straight into the tulies, knew where she was going, and busts me off! Oh well, I was fishing 6 lb., but that little flurry was worth it. It was dead till right before dark. I think those fish moved out of the tulies to grub. Another fish started chasing some fry around and boiling towards the dock on the other side, my friend tosses a weightless Robo and gets nailed, but missed it. Fun for a pit stop on the way home from work!

Sounds like a fun time. I haven't been fishing much anywhere. I have 3 papers to finish by the 10th. Need to graduate, so there goes the fishing. Needless to say, after 7 years of higher education, I'm a little burned out. I really don't want to write these stupid papers. But, I did hit SJ last week I think it was. Fished a couple hours for two smaller fish. It was right after they cleaned up the weeds, so I think they were clamped up. Maybe next week. Wanna hit Oso or MV in two weeks?

Nice on graduating, Ed, the hard work is worth it! Let me know when you want to fish Oso or Mission. I'm going to fish Oso tomorrow afternoon, I guess they have been on a steady Senko diet all week! Tossing around fishing out of Dana Sunday, but after the last couple of weeks of cold water I might just charge Mission or something. Let me know when you're ready for a break from studying!

What are you doing next friday? I think I'm going to prefish Newport ( got a tournament next sunday), but I might go out on the Reel Fun instead. All depends on how many papers I finish by next thursday though.

Shoot, gotta work Friday- if this weather holds, maybe the water will warm up a couple of degrees and the bass will be hungry, I wish I could fish with you Friday. Got some nice ones at Mission today, weather was beautiful. Biggest fish about 4 pounds on the white jig (sight fishing), they were biting well in the 20+ depth on the downshot.

I don't know, you tell me? Seems to me it was very lost (at least for this time of year and the current weather), and probably very cold.

p.s. I just got back from the ponds. One 1.5, and couple missed ones. Got it on a zipper that was on the surface as I fished up the cast. Got it maybe 10' from the dock. Also fished it Saturday night, for 2 about the same size as tonights. Those I got on a black and silver Zara Puppy (which I lost tonight). Plus I watched a bunch charge it, but miss the hooks. Gonna fish Dana friday I think.

Good luck Friday- saw a few decent bass counts out of Dana- I fished the ponds after work today, got 3 on the Senko in the big pond, that thing works good in that place. Last fish was a nice 3 right before dark, but he got so deep in the weeds and under some wood (xmas tree?) I thought I had a lunker- it took me, no exageration (sp?), 10 minutes to land that fish- I was stressing, thinking it was a much bigger fish! Hit the senko on the drop, deep in the weeds- I set the hook, fish took a little drag and was shaking its head hard, but heavy from all the weeds! Never got to see it, and that thing had me pinned in there good! I would put it in freespool, like a calico, and after a minute the fish would move off, but I kept feeling the wood rubbing on the line. I had to end up pointing the rod straight at the fish and giving it a very heavy steady pull, finally pulled it through. I finally had this huge mass of weed coming in, but a tail was slapping in there! Even when I lipped the fish, couldn't tell the size- 3 pounds!! I would have been a bit happier, but this fish tricked me into thinking it was much bigger! Still fun, though! Might be there tomorrow evening if you are gonna be around-
