I was there today. I showed up exactly when they planted. I fished the lower lake. I left the upper, just after seeing them go up. My friend kicked a$$. Not many people were catching but, my friend caught & released about 3X the limit. Not many were doing that good. Me included. Others whom I knew, caught at least there limit. I, on the other hand caught 2. WOW! Not really but, I lost 2 fish & had multiple hits. My fault cuz, I was too anxious & would pull on each strike rather than let'em take then pull. Oh well, maybe tomarrow will be better. I am going to the tourney at Apollo Park in Lancaster, CA. Wish me good luck! Hey WILS how did you do at the upper? I will post the out come of the tourney. CYA! P.S. - Bert, I always appreciate your heads up post. Please, keep'em coming. Thanx!

fishin was kinda slow for me and the same for the guys I talked with who weren't fishing with crawdads. The crawdad guys looked to be doing ok. i ran across a school of trout on the way in outside the upper ramp area about 2pm and got a quick limit for the frying pan. looked like they were being held tight to shore by some "big marks on the meter" that weren't hungry at the time the night fishing tonight(?) should be good.
the weather never really got too warm. 69 when I left at 3.
I think I need to break down and finally get a proper swimbait rod $$$

I would have thrown a lure at you if I fished the upper lake.:P Just kidding. Did you see any one catching a striper?

I didn't see anyone catch a striper. there were a few shore fishermen at the upper ramp but I was only there for about an hour first thing. there were a few guys starting to fish for them when I was leaving

For all interested, The lake record striper was caught friday weighed in at 41 pounds on an unknown bait as of yet. He also caught stripers of 15 and 25 pounds off the shore near the west ramp. My brother works for the Federal forest service and was there for the weigh in as he and his crew were there clearing brush.
