13641, AB 2280 going to the Senate Natural Resources and Wildlife Commitee on June 29th

Hi all,

Sorry I have not been updating everyone on the Hatchery and Fish Planting Bill, AB 2280..

I was working in the backcountry for a couple of weeks spawning golden trout in the John Muir Wilderness. When I got back, I had to get back up to date with the lastest information.

As many of you probably know, the bill did very well in the State Assembly. This was due to all the letters that were sent in support of the bill. Thanks to all of you who participated in sending in letters and emails. Assemblyman Cogdill says that he now has thousands of letters of support.

The bill is now going to the Senate Natural Resources and Wildlife Committee on June 29th. All anglers are urged to show up at the Capitol that day if they would like to testify in support of the bill and angling.

The Senate votes will not be as easy as the Assembly and hopefully I can get all of you on this forum to send in additional letters or make phone calls to the Senators on the committee as well as all the other 40 Senators who will vote on this bill if it makes it out of the committee.

We have updated the AB 2280 Website with information on the committee members and other officials that can be contacted. The website is www.stormsource.org/ab2280/

Let's all support this effort to keep our state hatcheries from closure......
