First time at the lake. This wast mostly a relax and drinking trip but I brought the tackle anyway. Fished Friday night with a suspending rapala jerkbait about 5 casts then my friends called me over to the beer bong and that was the end of that. I was able to get up early Sat. morning and fish before anybody woke up. Worked my way around the point on the north shore off of road three. I caught a 10 inch smallmouth on the third try on a pop -r. I got around the other side of the point and saw some fish breaking the surface so I cast the pop-r and about mid way it gets smashed. At first I thought a striped bass but I got it in and it was one of those squawfish. My first ever and hopefully my last, those things are way too slimy!!
