16957, Went to Convict Lake on 8/6/07 Posted by Adder, Thu Aug-09-07 04:07 AM
Well I went to Convict Lake last Monday and it wasn’t too bad. I realized when I got there I had forgotten my ice chest so it was going to be a catch and release day. I got to the lake at around 06:00. The fishing was not bad at all. The first fish I caught was a Brown that was a good 15†as luck would have it I hooked him down the throat so I had to keep him. The rest of the fish I caught ranged from 2 to 3.5lbs. I was catching browns on inflated crawlers. The rainbows were coming up on power bait, Thomas cyclones 1/4oz blue/silver and red/orange and Thomas buoyants 1/6oz in the same colors. The wind picked up at around 12:00 and the lake became very choppy, at this point the bite pretty much stopped. Here are some pics of that trip with the one brown I took home (the wife doesn’t like fish so I threw the rest back and had to buy an ice chest up there to take it home)
