My fishing buddy, John, and I headed to Camanche for our first visit of the year.
We trolled from 1000 to 1500, landing just five trout to 1½ pounds. The first came in open water near Hat, the rest came much later at a shallow point southeast of Little Hat Island.
Downriggers were unnecessary; we used one for about an hour and a half for zilch. All the fish took Firetiger Rapalas on the surface. We tried orange grubs, worms behind dodgers, and a few others. Only the Rapalas brought in the fish.
Maybe next time we can get into some bigger ones.

Dude if you want to catch a lot of trout, go to McClure. Trout fishing is super good at that lake. We watch guys trolling around catching fish after fish. Even fishing for bass, we get a ton of trout. A lot of them are nice fish, like 16 to 18 inch full finned fish.
