Got out to Lopez again yesterday. I just can't get enough of that place.

I started out near the bridge (which is still closed off btw) and caught two small ones on the point leading in. Next was wittenberg where I spent most of the rest of the day. I flipped for hours back there and got a ton of bites, but only one was pushing 3lbs maybe. They wouldn't touch reaction baits. In fact, I found at the very back of the creek, the moving water would produce little debri pockets on the back side of every tree or bush. Made for a perfect little shade canopy to sit and wait for something to drift by. I could get a bit on the back of almost every tree, but like I said, they were all small fish.

With only an hour or so left, I decided to finally go check out the back of the lake for the first time since it has filled. It looks abolutely awesome back there as well. I fished from the outside of a few side coves and again, only caught fish way back where the moving water was. All little guys, but they were hammering the king shad.

Maybe the bigger fish are hanging out in deeper areas along those coves. I'd sure like to get a pattern on those fish.

Here's a view from the back off wittenberg. There's a lot of little bass hanging in those bushes waiting for a meal.
