Got to the west ramp gate at about 6:20 & they weren't open, but the exit gate was open due to a trash truck getting trash, so I went on in.
Fished 1st. point to the left. Didn't see much for first 1/2 hr., then a couple boils. Made a cast, too short. Reeled in fast & made another cast, good one this time, crank, crank, BAM! I'm on. Pulled some drag twice & came unbuttoned, dang.
About 20 min. later, I made a blind cast, BAM!, didn't feel the same.
Got it in, about a 4 lb. largemouth.
Fun morning. They are supposed to plant this week, but I don't know which day.
I met Ed with Teem Striper & he took a pic. for me.
Released unharmed.

Ed said he caught 3 stripers this morning & saw 1 other caught. Told me about your bass also. They are scheduled for a plant this week but it hasn't happened yet, usually on wed.

They say sunrise. Around 7:00 a.m. they have been opening the gate.

Nice Bass! what did you get him on? a spoon i presume? i dunno. ive never really caught anything on spoons. any pointers?

The first one I hooked, I'm sure was a striper. Got him on a slow steady retrieve.
The largemouth hit on a slow crank-jerk-let sink retrieve.He smacked it on the sink.
Ya just have to try different ways, & DON'T quit. Keep casting with a positive confidence.
