Had a wedding to attend in SB but managed to sneak off to the infamous lake Cachuma for a morning trip. Brian and Brian and I hit the water around 7:45. I had forgotten how clear Cachuma was. It was like an aquarium in the marina and we actually saw several fish on beds that had been drawn up by the nearly full moon. We fished up on the narrows end of the lake for the morning and the bite was very good. Brian Kettler was sticking them left and right. Rico, buzzbait, 7" Osprey, senko, rattle trap, he caught fish on all of the above. I flipped two nice fish and Brian Long flipped one on the Assalt jig. Brian K and I actually had a double at one point. It's been a long time since I've had a double so that was cool.

By the time we left the narrows end we had 10 fish from 2 to 4.1 pounds. The majority of the fish were 3 to 4lbers that ranged from short chunky units to spawned out looking snakes. One of the highlights of the day was when Brian K lips this very skinny fish and starts peeing everywhere (including all over Brian L's jacket once Brian K got his aim down :-) ) Way too funny. At 1:30 we headed back by the marina and I finished off the day with another 3 and a half type fish on the 12" Slammer. Having spent many a day in a rental boat at Cachuma trying hopelessly to catch a bass when I was young, it was nice to go back and really rip some lip. Thanks to the two Brian's for showing me around and Brian K for the boat ride.

Nice, I told they'd at least work for that? Did you give Rob his. Heck did you keep any for yourself?

Good job boys.

How's 'bout some SD lake action soon. I hit the mystery pond w/ Rudy last night. Only 1 each, but it was a nice quite evening (except for some kind of wild animal attack in the bushes).

Ah, not another wild animal attack. That one night with the coyotes at Discovery Lake was scary. Especially getting lost in the chapparral. Rob got his portion of the ed hogs. I'm considering camping out down in the sd region for a week or so after july 4, but just kickin it around. That's if this motorcycle riding in the desert thing falls through, which i think it probably will. i'll let you know if i'll be down there though.

Rob didn't laugh too hard did he? I know they're ugly, started out as a night bait.

I don't know, Brian put it on and hooked up right away. I will give them a go here and there. It's always good to have something a little different no matter what you're fishin for. Thanks for getting some to me.

Brian gave 'em the name, it stuck, and it works. I should think about doing something with them, but I just never quite get around to it.
