My son and I are going for a weekend fishing in mid-August, any suggestions for catching Bass mainly but he is 10 years old so any species that will bite during the hot weather would be appreciated.
We will be fishing from a boat.

Thanks in advance for any tips.

Brad,

Caitas in August is TOUGH. But right now there is a topwater bite going on. Try buzzbaits and sammies first thing in the morning and evening. Then once the topwater bite dies, srop shot oxblood worms in 25 -30 ft of water. Catfish are another option you might want to consider, use cut makeral. Not much else going this time of year, maybe an occasional readear on worms but other than that pretty dead. Hope this helps.
