Well it appears that it will be a go! I spoke with Dewayne Maxwell with the DFG today and he stated he would be sending the permit tomorrow!
Last night at the Friends of Castaic Lake meeting we were allocated enough money to have a Cash payout for the top 3 fish! The pay out is as follows $300 for 1st, $200 for 2nd, and $100 for 3rd places. I have spoke with some Tackle stores and vendors and I have some very nice product that has "tenatively" been promised for the event. I hope to have enough product to pay down past 3rd place.
The Derby will offically start November 1st, and will last till December 15th at which time we will have a cerimony to present the prizes to the winners.
The derby is free to enter all you have to do to enter is when you catch your striper take it to the main launch ramp have it weighed in, fillout the form thats it!Easy. More will be posted later.
