Like everyone else that fished yesterday, I expected to get drenched. But, I only saw a little drizzle, though it poured for almost an hour before I left the house. Wind was up till around 10:30, air was nice and cool.

Worked the south end of the West? lake. Picked one (maybe 12") off on a junebuggish Coreshot Senko about 9:30. Only two bites for the next hour or so. Then history was made. That's right folks, I got me a dropshot fish. This may seem a stupid thing to be happy about, but it's big for me. I've tried dropshotting many times, even bought and got rid of 2 setups purchased for DSing. But, I always ended up pissed off, w/ lots of missed swings. I had given up hope this technique, the CJ gave me some advice which I took. It worked last night when one very dumb 14" LM ate my 4" junebug straight tail. While it wasn't exactly heart stopping personal best, it was new milestone. Scratch one more stripe off my back.

That was around 11, and from then on I was just practicing casting it would seem. No more bites, though I did watch a couple fish work some bait in an area I couldn't get to.

Glad to hear it Ed. This will be the first of many. Keep at it, and let me know a little in advance for the next Woodbridge trip. Maybe Kevin, Bryan or I could head down and hook up with ya.

Will do Chris. And I do look forward to more fish on the DS.
