Which brand Flourocarbon line do you guys use? I am looking for a good line that is abrasion resistant and has minimal memory. I plan on using it for the deep water presentations for this Winter. I have tried the Berkley Vanish and will never use that one again! I heard the Yamamoto Sugoi is good. Looking for advice on what others recommend.

dude, the best flouro is Sugoi for sure!!! $$$$ though... If you are looking for something that is abrasion resistant, straight flouro is not gonna be your cup of tea... P-line makes a hybrid flouro that is pretty dynamite, it is called flouro-clear, it casts better than any line out there, but again, not the most abrasion resistant, if you decide to give it a whirl, just check your line and re-tie.

Here's the secret....Seguar makes Cabelas NO-VIS flourocarbon for a big savings. When you spool it up. your fingers have an "oily" feel and not a white powder residue on your fingertips. This line casts has all the great characteristics of expensive flouro brands, you can feel the "tik" of a bite with controlled slack line. Dane is right in the matter of re-tying....all flourocarbon line needs to be looked afer continuously....once you convert, you'll never go back. You can get 400yd. spools for $15 up to 12lb. test, they offer it in 4-20lb. Good luck and "Don't tell anybody"!

Two brands come to mind. Sugoi and Varivas. Varivas is fairly hard to find. It comes from Japan and has the least amount of memory I've seen in a flourocarbon line. The Sugoi is the way to go if you cant find the Varivas. The sugoi is just as abrasion resistant if not more then the P-line cxx. That stuff is almost indestructable. It is expensive, but if you know how to cast and not get too many backlashes, you can leave it on your reel for a long time. Just stretch it a little and your in buisness for like 6-10 months of fishing. It doesn't slip when you tie a regular knot either.

You wont believe this but Triple Fish Makes a Flour that is very good. It is what I am using for now. I have felt every fish I have caught on this line even one at 50 feet of water. It is not Japaneese Line it is German. And it is made just as a fishing line unlike the Japaneese lines where the material is sold to the line companies for them to make line. It is clear and vertualy disapears in water where the other lines are milky looking in water. And its less expensive.

Just to let you know. There is a flourocarbon leader out that is made by the same people who make the megabait lures. I just saw it at Fisherman's Access in Brea and it was about half of what the Seaguar was. I am actually a Seaguar user but I think it's worth a try. I'm gonna pick some up the next time I'm out that way. If you want to get some prices on it you can call them. The number is 714-674-0064. Talk to Jack (Owner) or David. I tried the P Line flouro clear and I was not impressed with it at all. In fact I am taking it off today. I broke off just casting, which I never have had that problem with regular mon. I have heard of some stuff from a Japanese maker that makes a really good line. I am going to give that a try or just go with what everyone says is the best, Sugoi by Yamamoto.

P-Line Floroclear isn't a flourocarbon line--it's a regular, copolymer mono that's coated with flourocarbon.

I actually like the Floroclear though, and haven't had any problems with it. Floroclear is less abrasion resistant and is stretchier than P-Line's CXX, which is what I normally use, but I love its limpness and castability. Breaking strength and knot strength of Floroclear are good too. If you use heavier lines in the colder months, Floroclear is better than CXX.

My .02 on flourocarbon lines:
I've only tried the 16 lb Sugoi for my pitching/worming setups and initally found its stiffer, wiry characteristics hard to get used to. After using it for a while I guess the line became "broken in" or I just got used to its wiriness. Anyway, I really like it's smaller diameter, sensitivity and abrasion resistance. You have to get over how stiff it feels if you haven't used it before. Sugoi is very pricy in the small filler spools--the bigger spool would be the way to go. In 16 lb, the Sugoi sells for $21.98 for a 50m spool and $88.98 for a 600m spool.

I just picked up a filler spool of 10 lb Seaguar flourocarbon but haven't tried it yet. It costs a lot less than the Sugoi and has a good reputation so we'll see...

Let me know how that Seagur line is. I would like to know how it handles compared to Sugoi.
