Does anyone know if the fishing is any good there? I heard they have 3 fishing lakes. I play frisbee golf across the street from there but I've never fished em!!

If you have Huevos....hit up the nature center up the street, we used to hop the fence at 4am, we would see all kinds of wildlife in the dark as we hiked in to the pond. We would catch all kinds of bass in there...lots of brushy shore structure with lot's of fish in it...good luck, don't get caught!

There's a few who whatch this board that fish the lakes at Eldo. Mostly bass fisherman. The DFG was scheduled to stock trout there this week. When I go I just fish for bass. Most the action is going come from the back lakes for bass. The fish are in a winter pattern everywhere so this means deeper water holding tight to cover. Expect it to be slow for bass right now although this week you might have a better chance of catching one throwing the artificial trout. It could happen but chances are you would be better off dropshotting or fishing a jig. Remember deeper water and tight to cover fished very slowly. I don't want to discourage you but I must warn the fish in ELDO as in most the neighborhood lakes in the area see a lot of pressure and can be very picky. If you do catch some bass please stick them back in the lake so maybe I can catch them the next I go down there and if I do I will put them back so someone else will have a shot them on another day. Ok enough confussion all I'm saying is please catch and release.

Thanks,

JerryG

First of all - Jigngerr please don't encourage people to jump fences and fish illegally - it's stuff like that hurts fishing in general. Gives people like PETA and others more reasons to try and stop us from fishing all-together.

As for Eldo - Yes - there are bass in all four lakes - but the best fishing are the two lakes in Area 3. The big lake in area 3 does get a trout plant - and also catfish. The lakes receive a ton of pressure and there are a lot of favorite baits among those that fish there. Everyone has their favorites.

The lakes in area 3 are scheduled to be "cleaned" this week and will be closed Nov. 20-22. I'm not sure what they mean by that - but that's just a friendly head's up.
