After Margarita on Saturday I drove down to SB with Mike Shaw and Mike's buddy Butch. We woke up early Sunday and were launched by 5:15am from the SB Harbor to go after the salmon. The morning was lumpy with confused wind chop. We started in the grey off the lighthouse and worked our way west towards Goleta. To make a long long story short we trolled 7 hours without a bite. We worked it from 150 out to 240 and all the way to campus point and back again. We never saw any bait on the graph, we never saw anyone catch a fish, and we only talked to one guy all day who had caught one fish. Weather turned nice and we did the right stuff, but the fish just weren't biting or weren't there at all. Most of the fleet wound up off Goleta and I heard that few fish were caught, but overall it was just tough out there.
