"Bill Aspinwall - Memorial Trip"

I know that a lot of you have fished on the Sea Hawk, Sea Hawk LXV, Hornet, Stardust and Condor out of Santa Barbara, you may have known Bill.
Bill Aspinwall was a fixture on the sport boats in Santa Barbara. I started working on the Sea Hawk and Hornet in 1990, and learned alot of what I know about bass fishing from Bill. He was a great guy, in all those years, I never saw him in a bad mood. We spent many days working in the Sea Landing Office, he would be taking apart and repairing reels for the rent rods.

One thing about ole Bill, once you got to know him, he would find a funny way to say hello to you. Everybody had a different way of saying hello. For me, we used to whistle the tune to the Andy Griffith show, and wave our arm slowly about our waist. What a character!

He was a great reel mechanic, rod rapper, galley cook, and friend. I will miss him.......

Just wanted to make sure everyone knows about Bill's memorial service on the Condor Express on Wed. Dec. 11th. The boat is scheduled to leave at 3:30. We are going to head up to Naples and spread Bill's Ashes at his favorite fishing hole. Your welcome to bring a rod and an iron, scampi or chopper for a ceremonial cast to OLD CRUSTY.

Please make sure you spread the word.

Bill's family could not afford to have his body cremated. Bruce Gail generously fronted $1,000.00 to have this done for Bill and his family. We all need to help out Bruce with this one. If you can afford to, please to try to kick in at least $50.00.

You can call the Sea Landing for more information:
