started off fishing the pier around 10AM and was hoping for a mack attack. only got one mackeral in an hr and 1/2! very very slow. my friend got a smelt at the end. isnt it kinda rare for smelt to be caught at the end? ive only seen mackeral caught at the end. at about 1130 went down to the docks at daveys locker. luckly they had live bait. only it didnt do us much good. had a few bites on the chovies but only one hook up. it was a big fat stingray. and i mean fat. it was really demeted looking. i also bought a pack of storm wild eye lures. tried them out for a long time and no hits. switched to a clear curly tail swimbait with sparkels and got one big bite but it didnt take in the hook. ended up just having fun with smelt on the ultra light. ended around 430
