9362, Low tide perch

Whats up all. Fished Manhattan Bch this past Sunday (3-23) morning. Really low tide, 0.0 I beleive. Anyways I managed three perch on 1.5" Perch Power Grubs. The first fish I landed started to ssqueeze out a handful of babies about an inch long. All fish were released. Do these babies live when they are born "prematurely"?

I know everyone has opinions about fishing at low tide but my fishing time is usually scheduled around my kids basketball/softball/practice/games so I go whenever time permits regardless of tide. Anyways, at low tide you can really see the holes and trenches that fill in with the tide. I've been surf fishing casually for the last 2 years and have found that I do have better luck on a higher tide but for me scoring 3 fish on any tide is a good day no matter what.

I bought a couple of 3" Big Hammer swimbaits from the Fred Hall show a few weeks back. I still haven't tried them out yet. Has anybody had any luck in the South Bay catching Halibut from the surf?

thanks,
Kman
