10378, Any recommended outfitters in Cabo?
Posted by Matt Peters, Wed Jul-23-03 08:31 AM
Hello,

Does anyone have any recommendations/options/advice for hiring an outfit out of Cabo/San Jose Del Cabo for some fishing. We don't need a super professional outfit, not that hardcore....Just looking for a good outfit to put us on some fish down there....yellowtail, dodos, tuna, maybe a billfish or rooster...

Any suggestions?

Matt:

Just got back from Cabo and the fishing sucked. All we heard on the radio chatter was "nada, nada, nada." Can't say what outfit we scored our panga from but it was only $40 + bait + tip = $75 total. We only scored one lousy skipjack on the troll. One of the local coyotes hooked us up with the skipper, after we agreed to a 90 minute time share presentation.

The boat was an old school 18 foot center console running a 75 johnson. The gear was pretty decent stuff. Been meaning to post a report about. just haven't had time to upload pics. Good luck.

Oh! The worst part of the day was the bait situation. Mullet and sardines are $2 each. We got 10, thinking we'd go through em all. I told the deckhand Jesus to rebait me a couple times. Turned out he was reusing the old bait, and keeping fresh ones for himself for later use. Pissed me off.
