Went fishing 12-22-99 at Goleta Pier from 12:30 to 2:30 no fish. Anyone catching anything lately?

Winter is usually slow. I had a big (in the 50 inch range) shovelnose Thanksgiving night but lost it when another fish struck my other rod and some asshole picked my rod up causing me to not pay attention to what I was doing and my line snapped.
