Fished morro bay for a couple of hours on saturday while the kids threw rocks .I coouldnt get the Halibut etc to bite on bait but i did catch (and released) a calico bass on a optimum " swimbait .Has anyone caught a calico this far north? I've personally never heard of them being north of santa barbara.. tight lines, Brian

I've caught 6 in Monterey and 2 in Moss Landing. Look for the warmest water you can find. Tight lines, Wade

Maybe I'm just not dialed in yet, or maybe I'm spoiled, but to me it varies between pathetic and almost fair. I still haven't gotten any really nice freshwater fish since I moved here, and the numbers of fish that I've caught aren't very good either. I haven't caught(&Released) a limit of legal sized fish since I moved down here, except at a private pond, and even that wasn't as good as I'd expect. On the flip-side I have only been skunked 4x this year out of 53 trips. Tight lines, Wade
