I just came back from Morro Bay last weekend. I saw maybe 20 or so Leopards on the N. side of the rock. Right where the Hot water from the Power Plant releases. I didntcatch one . But we did get one bite. Took our line outlike crazy but released. Some were 40 LBS or so. Always fish the high tide there. THts when we saw them. Also you might just get a big Striped Bass they are there also at high tide. Good luck!!!E-mail with success please.. I go there often!!!Jeff

I fish leopards primarily in the bay from mid march to sept. I catch about 40-50 a season. I would love to go with someone but I just ask that you take very few if any fish because thats when the females have their young. So if I keep any I keep the males. E-mail me back at tesjrb@cs.com
j

Hello,
I lived in the Morro Bay area for a few years, and I miss fishing there tremendously. My roomate, at the time, and some other good buddies would go out almost every night to fish Leopard sharks. They had a special spot, but you didn't hear it from me. There is a frontage road near the Morro Bay Golf Course and by the Museum. Near this area is a cafe, if I remember right, it's called Bayside Cafe. Turn off of the frontage road into the cafe and go right all the way till it ends. It is a small point right below the Museum. Prime spot for large Leopard and Horn Sharks. They had a blast fishing it at night time, if you could stand the weather. Let me know how you do. I might have some other answer's for you, about the area. Good Luck!!
Freddy

I wanted to thank you for not sharing this particular spot your friends fished for sharks. I believe I know the spot and it can get hot at times, I have been out there with four people all hooked up and running into each other!! This fishery is so small that it can be knocked out pretty fast, plus it is a nursery so these fish must be released. I will take someone to my spot if they promise to be respectful of the fish and enviroment. I want my new daughter to grow up fishing these spots so lets always remember to take care of these precious resources.
j
