3438, Albies GO NOW

Wow is all I can say. Just got back from a one day on the Pacific Horizon. 15 anglers 130 Albies. Many fish in the 25-40 pound range. I got one that was in the mid to high 50's. This fish was a slug. It was the biggest albacore I have ever personally seen. The fish are biting full speed. We had two huge stops. The first was for three hours. These fish were the bigger variety. The second stop was wide open but smaller grade, 15-20 pound. These were really biting. The weather is flat calm and looks like it will be for a few days.

The Pacific Horizon was a decent boat. 65' nice sized bunks. The cook is a chef on a leave. Lunch was Albacore Vera Cruz, with apple and mango relish, salad, washed down with ice cold Coronas. The lunch was $4.00 same as a cheese burger. All I can say is get out there while the weather is good

That big albacore is a really nice fish! Congrats. How was the fight (line test, bait/troll)?

I caught him on 20 pound test and a 1/0 Super Mutu Circle Hook. Took about twenty minutes to land. I thought I had a bluefin until I saw it. I cant say enough about using circle hooks for tuna. Gives you a much better chance of catching them. They dont chew through the line.

Fishing is still great. Today 30 anglers on the Admiral caught 318 Albies, with the weather still pretty good. Couple days ago 14 on the Pacific Horizon had 201 Albies.
