Had a great time on the water today. Although most of my fish were trash fish, it was fun to get out again. I started off fishing the breakwall for WFO fishing on the larger sized bonito and macks. My swimbait finally made it through the bones and macks and I pulled up a 19" halibut. At about 8 I went in and fished around the bait reciever for a few more macks and sandies. There are still massive squid floats off of Torrance Beach, but I didnt want to hassle with the long paddle and PBers. I did see a small school of squid getting chased by practically everything in the harbor. All fish were CnR'd on plastics. I was surprised that most of the fish favored the brownbait and chartreuse swimbaits with the red leadhead over the more natural colors like channel islands chovy and green sardine.
