At lunch I read Rob's update thingy on the homepage. Brought up the question, what do weather conditions mean for fishing? What to look out for? So, What are your general rules or thoughts on the topic? Saltwater?
Freshwater?
Day vs. night?
I haven't spent too much time thinking about this. I know LM's are more picky about what happens than saltwater models. Backsides of fronts don't bode well for the bite. But how long after, I have no clue. What am I missing.

I'm posting this here, on the fresh, and on the salt boards. I just want as many responses as possible.

i know that obvously fishing is better in warmer weather but there are other tricks to it...

well i no that fish like to eat alot right before a low presure system swoops in so that way they can last through it. also right after a storm cause thy well be hungry.

i know that some fish like to eat at night rather then the day. cause at this dock in newport beach there are no bights durring the day but when night comes whiteseabass bight big but usally there small.(dont ask what dock)

this is an intresting topic so il be checkin on it and see what others know about this topic.oh and that info i had was for saltwater fishing

from the guy who luvs sculpin :)

Seems like if any of us knew the answer, we'd be rich! The LMB seem to chew (especially the big girls) when the barometer is dropping and a low pressure system is moving in, and it gets tough after, you know, the bluebird sky type of deal. The pressure drop makes them want to eat. I think the checkers relate more to the current then the weather, but I don't know. Those drizzly days when a storm is moving in seem to produce pretty well on the LMB. Anyone fished San V lately, heard it was still pretty good. History shows the croaker love the dark, the sun rising shuts it off a lot of times. Seabass and squid, go figure!
