Steve, Chris and I did o.k. on the spots and sands. Only problem was that they bit and shut-off all morning. You were either catching left and right, or you were bored silly. In 6 hours I managed 25-30 bass, probably 3:2 legals to shorts. Legals were mostly chunky 13-14" spots, mixed in with a few nicer sandies. Plus a nice Calico. Best action was from brush or Edhogs for myself and Chris. Steve did well on Storm 3" swimbaits in rainbow trout. 5 of my fish (including the Calico) thought they were largemouths. They fell to flipped watermelon/ gold flake brushhogs, which happens to be my favorite bait for Shelter when they get picky in the afternoon.

Water was a balmy 67-68 degrees. Wind by 10:00 was a royal pain. Lot's of paddling, for quick drifts. Most of the fish I caught were from 15-23', with 20' holding the most. Basically they were hanging in the middle of the drop-off. Plenty of fish marked in deeper water, but they refused to bite. It was frustrating when they'd shut down, the meter showed all the classic signs of fish. In fact, it looked like it was in demo mode, yet they wouldn't bite.
Overall, a fun day which showed signs that summers coming quick. Pretty soon it will 40+ fish days with lots of shallow water eelgrass action.
