Well, red tide has arrived. The harbor has very little visibility and a whole lotta bait. Mackerel, sardines and even herring. The baby sardines are everywhere. Tonight was much like last night. Lots of bait, no seabass. I think there are so many different factors that can account for the slow fishing. The amount of phospho probably has something to do with it, as does the red tide, plentiful amounts of bait, the wind, the fishing pressure yada yada... Harbor Patrol checked everybody for lights and then he went and picked up a fish and game and he came around and checked for licenses. There were two kayakers and john the fly fisherman in his float tube as well as a boat. Kinda busy tonight. I did manage to catch a mackerel on the fastrac, what a battle. It's always fun to get two treble hooks out of the face of a psycho mackerel while sitting in an inflatable. Ok, tomorrow, maybe goleta beach...
