7974, "Mr. Tree's great Beach"?

Mr. Tree, or anyone else; Mr. Tree's post on 9/12/02 gave a detailed description of the directions to a good surfcasting beach in front of the golf course south of the Bacara Resort, but I would like to know the name of this beach because I am new to surfcasting in this area and would like to be able to tie reports about different beaches to their actual locations. Is this beach Haskells, Sands, Ellwood Shores, or, if it is a no-name beach where is it in relation to these beaches? Also, does anyone know where Mohawk beach is? It is reported to be good for halibut, perch(and calicos at times).

Belated thanks for the original report Mr. Tree.

Yea, Mohawk is a great fishing spot, if you are on Cliff Drive on The Mesa of Santa Barbara heading towards Hendry's beach you will see Mohawk Street. At the end of Mohawk Street you can look out over the ocean and where all the kelp is growing is Mohawk Reef. You can get to the reef by walking down the stairs at Mesa Lane, turning right at the bottom and walking about 400-800 meters.
