Fished Topanga today with my friend Aaron and my dad. We did a night dive, my dad got his limit, I got 5 yada yada yada...lets get to the exciting part. :) We mainly fished the point all day but we fished the Charthouse in the midst of diving birds for a couple of sandies, a couple of tiny grass rockfish, a lizardfish and a yellowfin croaker. When we got to the point, I immediatly hooked up with a 22.5" flatty on a 4" Keylime FT before I met Jack (JLMX) We caught more sandies here and there, man they were thick today, Aaron and I must of had 20 a piece. Shortly after I get two short seabass before playing around in the rediculously shallow water with a 5" Prizm Pepper Trout Big Hammer. The water was glassy with a small channel of wind and I told myself,"If you can cast into that channel you will get bit" Sure enough, after a couple of hops I hook into a halibut that manages to break me off! I was angry because I know that fish will probly die with that 3/4 leadhead sticking out of his face, hopefully he will shake it off. I retie a 5" Purple Haze Big Hammer and get a short next cast! The next cast I get a legal at 22"! The next cast I get a 27"! Man that was great, Aaron comes in and witnesses the whole thing but he only gets a sculpin. I guess it was just my day. All fish released but the 22.5" and 27" of course the bugs too. :)
