Well Matt, I'm glad you put an eye down there because I use a stinger on them and there are days when at least half my fish come up on the stinger:)
I agree that there are days when the stinger is not needed, but unless I'm pitching them into/around thick cover I have one on.
I'm fortunate that my home lakes don't eat a lot of baits, so I don't fear hanging them up a bunch with with a #2 Gami round treble tucked into the belly.
